Stone Oak Country Club was founded in 1921 and was originally known as Glengarry Country Club. For 65 years, Glengarry Country Club existed in this location with a clubhouse and golf course carved through the dense forest. The original clubhouse, which resembled a large blue barn with a wrap around porch, stood in the very location that the clubhouse exists today. In the mid-1980’s the Glengarry clubhouse fell victim to a destructive fire and, as a result, the clubhouse burnt to the ground. In 1988, the Club was acquired by Cavalear Properties Limited Partnership and in 2001, ownership was transferred to the membership of Stone Oak Country Club. Throughout this time, Stone Oak has developed into a popular, upscale residential country club community.
